Thrill Them With Tickets

Posted in Entertainment, Event Tickets, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Music, Shopping Tips, Sports, Theatre at 2:47 am by Deb Savvy

What a better way to show someone you care than the gift of tickets?  You’re not just offering them a gift – you’re offering them an experience.  Perhaps an experience that you’ll all share together.  From professional sports to theatre and concerts, these days there’s no such thing as a sold out show anymore.

Event tickets are a great gift for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day and tons of other special occassions. Perhaps Mom would enjoy lunch and a matinee at the theatre in honor of her special day? Maybe you’d like to treat Dad to a day at the ballpark. You’d be surprised how easy it is to find tickets for ’sold out’ events. Last minute shopping can pay off when it comes to event tickets. Prices are often lower with only one or two days notice and most major ticket brokers have a pick up location near or at the event location. Always check prices and availability from a couple of sources, just to be sure you’re getting the best seats at the best possible price.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!

MLB.com Shop is the Ultimate for MLB apparel

Opening day is this weekend and I couldn’t let it pass without a mention.  Baseball is a funny thing.  Of course, there are die-hard fans as there are for every sport.  The difference is that baseball is a sport for people who aren’t really into professional sports and don’t actually consider themselves fans of anything.  I’m one of those people.  I call us ‘athletic agnostics’.   Generally disinterested in professional sports, somehow baseball breaks through.  I think it’s genetic.  My father was a die-hard White Sox fan and the passion has somehow crept into my psyche.  For some reason I can’t help but know how many games out we are.  White Sox t-shirts are part of my regular gym wardrobe.  It’s beyond my control.  And I think there are a lot of people like me.  Especially women.

So don’t forget, April 1 is Opening Day!  Go White Sox!

Savvy Shopping for Event Tickets

Posted in Event Tickets, Great Ideas, Sports, Theatre at 1:21 am by Deb Savvy

Here’s an entirely new twist selling tickets to sports events, concerts, etc. TicketBroker Direct charges a membership fee of $99 per year (like Sams Club or Costco) and gives members to get access to wholesale prices on over 2,000,000 tickets to over 50,000 events from over 2,000 brokers in the country.  Savvy sold out ticket seekers can save 15-50%.  Many people do not know that ticket brokers share inventory with each other at a highly reduced rate. When you go to a ticket broker (in person or online), you are usually looking at another broker’s inventory. The ticket broker you are dealing with marks up the tickets anywhere from 15-50%, sometimes with frustrating last minute fees, etc.  With TicketBroker Direct, members get access to that network – as if they were ticket brokers themselves! This allows them to save a ton on tickets to any major event and that’s savvy shopping!  Thought you’d want to know.

There’s No Such Thing as a Sold Out Show

Premium tickets at TicketsNow

Not anymore!  Tickets are readily available for sold out theatre, concerts and sporting events.  This is one purchase for which it really pays to do some research first.  Ticket availability varies daily, as venues release held seats and ‘house’ tickets and ticket holders turn back seats they are unable to use.  Especially in the case of theatre, prices can decrease dramatically as the performance date approaches.

Don’t forget to check the seating charts (easily accessible at just about all ticket brokerage websites) before making a purchase.  There’s nothing wrong with a slightly obstructed view as long as you’ve made the informed choice to accept that option.  Compare service fees along with the ticket prices.  Some services charge a lower markup for seats and a larger service charge.
