Whether you’re planning a casual get together, a child’s birthday party or putting together a gala wedding – here’s a great idea to add a personal touch to the outside of your invitation.  Did you know you can have personal stamps made with any photo or image you choose?  That’s right.  You can send wedding invitations with real U.S. postage stamps bearing the smiling faces of the happy couple.  How great an idea is that? You simply upload their image to the web site, customize it using the easy-to-use toolbox (which includes zoom, rotate, and a choice of border colors), and place an order. Your personal Photo Stamps will arrive in the mail in about 5-7 days.

Psst….  Graduates….   They won’t send you a gift if they don’t know that you graduated.  Besides – don’t you want to share the news and spread the joy?

Perfect Packaging

Posted in Gifts, Great Ideas, Paper, Shopping Tips at 4:47 am by Deb Savvy

We all know it’s best not to judge a book by it’s cover.  But certain things in life are simply defined by their first impressions.  Gifts, for example, are that much more exciting when they are beautifully packaged and wrapped.    Even a relatively simple item – a book, sweater, scarf, DVD or bottle of perfume - can be enhanced and transformed by terrific presentation.  Gift wrapping is a fun and easy way to unleash your creativity.  Don’t be afraid to mix colors, styles and textures – maybe even a few coordinated patterns.  For a splash of originality consider using some traditional origami paper, simple brown craft paper, interesting photos from an old magazine or other unusual items in combination with other wrap and ribbons.  With a few minutes of effort you’ll transform your gift into more than just the object inside the box – it’s now a delightful gifting experience the recipient will savor and remember.

Snail Mail is Not Dead

Last week I wanted to write a thank you note to Ann.  She lives in Montana and found a set of bar glasses at her Costco that match the set I got several years ago at my Costco and had lamented to her was no longer available.  It was a really thoughtful gift and I wanted to send a lovely note but I had no nice stationery.  I wonder how long it’s been since I wrote an actual letter.  How crazy is that?  I’ve since replenished my supply and in the process found some great deals on high quality stationery.

Paper Palace

Some of the most exquisite papers in the world are those intended for Origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding.  The papers themselves are perfect for creative gift wrapping, scrapbooking and all kinds of crafts.  Origami papers and an instruction book make for an original and inexpensive gift.  Origami can be a fun project with children as many ‘folds’ are quite easy.  Origami birds or flowers can also be a elegant and festive holiday table decoration.
