It’s crazy how certain movies work their way into the fabric of our everyday lives. I was having dinner with friends recently and at one point in the conversation, Stacey asked the group ‘what was it that Yoda said?’. We all answered in unison ‘do or do not. there is no try.’ Wisdom often comes from unusual sources.
And so does fun, by the way. At their wedding last fall, Michael and Julia posed for pictures while dueling with Star Wars light sabers. It was really cute and the pictures turned out great. For the right people, light sabers could be a terrific gift. It’s just silly enough without being tasteless (to the right people) and certainly memorable.
What is it about a Mickey Mouse watch? How about Grumpy or Cinderella? Certain images are is so universally iconic that they appeal to almost anyone, regardless or age or nationality. I’m not big on character shopping myself, but there’s just something about a Disney watch. There are kid’s watches, of course, but there are tons of other choices too.
