I did quite a bit of jewelry shopping on my recent travels. Technically, I guess I did a lot more jewelry browsing than actual shopping, since I only bought a few things. I saw incredible artisan jewelry. Unusual materials. Interesting designs. New techniques. One thing that really stood out amongst everything else was hammered metal work. From simple bands and bangles to hammered link necklaces and bracelets. In New York, Miami, Paris, Jerusalem and Madrid. Hammered was one of the hottest looks of the season.

I saw loads of interesting jewelry during my recent globe trotting, including some really interesting modern pieces featuring black pearls. There was one piece in particular that I considered – a simple single perfect black pearl on a leather necklace. I really regretted not buying it. It turns out that I was very smart to let it go. I found this one today and I like it even better and it’s a much better value.

I saw loads of wonderful jewelry in my recent travels. Including lots of bold and beautiful silver. So, I expect to be writing several posts on ‘Euro Silver’ in the coming days and weeks. First and foremost: Bangles. Bangle bracelets are everywhere this season. And I saw some fabulous bangles. Simple clean lines, elegant yet modern and bold designs. Some of my favorites featured silver in combination with other interesting and often unexpected materials.
