I had lunch today with my pal Janis and went crazy for her fabulous silver earrings. She said - oh, do you like them? They’re from James Avery 
. I should have known.
Fabulous! Available in sterling silver ($135) or 14k gold($425) A coordinating oval link bracelet is also available.
Janis has been a James Avery fan for quite a few years now - and with good reason. The craftsmanship is excellent. The pieces are solid and substantial without being at all heavy or clunky. The overall quality is comparable to high end designers like Tiffany - yet the prices are far more reasonable. And a bit lighter and airier, if you know what I mean. Their designs are also a bit more unusual than the more well known big names, which means you won’t see your new favorite earrings or bracelet everywhere you turn.

I did quite a bit of jewelry shopping on my recent travels. Technically, I guess I did a lot more jewelry browsing than actual shopping, since I only bought a few things. I saw incredible artisan jewelry. Unusual materials. Interesting designs. New techniques. One thing that really stood out amongst everything else was hammered metal work. From simple bands and bangles to hammered link necklaces and bracelets. In New York, Miami, Paris, Jerusalem and Madrid. Hammered was one of the hottest looks of the season.
