Light, warm and wonderful, there’s nothing not to like about alpaca. Especially right now – I just took a surf over to Alpaca Boutique and am quite pleased to report that there are some beautiful alpaca bargains to be found. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post about bargain cashmere shopping at Cashmere Boutique (Dreamy-Little-Cashmere-Accessories) The deals were SO fabulous that I just had to do a bit of shopping for myself.

I ordered a black cashmere v-neck ribbed pull over, a pair of black cashmere cable knit socks (on sale for only $33!) and a burgundy v-neck ribbed cardigan. The cardigan was out of stock. I knew that when I placed my order, but I liked it so much and the price was so great that I figured it would be worth the wait. Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Cashmere Boutique informing me that they would no longer be carrying that particular sweater but that they did have one in the same color (and for the same $99 price) with a slightly different neckline. The e-mail included a picture of the potential replacement and a quick link to add that item to my prior order with one click. The sweater was cute, but I wasn’t exactly sure I liked the round neck so I decided to think about it for a while. Today I came home to a message on my voice mail. I real live person from Cashmere Boutique called me to make sure I had gotten the e-mail and to apologize for being unable to fill my backorder. She left me a phone number and her direct extension and assured my that were I to need this item quickly for a gift (after all, Hanukkah is less than a week away) that my replacement cardigan would be express shipped at no charge to me. Unfortunately, personal service like this is pretty uncommon these days – especially when you’re bargain hunting. I could not possibly be happier with my shopping experience. The sweater and socks that I did receive were absolutely terrific and of a much higher quality than I expected, particularly for the price.
