The savvy shopping blog – Who are we?
My name is Deb and I live (mostly) in Chicago. I spend a lot of time traveling and a lot of time shopping and I may just be the world’s greatest shopper. It’s funny because in certain ways I actually hate shopping. After all what 43 year old woman actually enjoys seeing her butt and thighs under bad fluorescent lights reflected back and forth in the walls of mirrors in a department store fitting room?
I am not a ‘stuff junkie’. My house is uncluttered and organized and I know where everything is. I’m not a style hound with a new wardrobe every season built around whatever the ‘it-girls’ are wearing on TV. I just happen to like really good stuff. I also hate to waste money. And I really hate to waste time. And I really, really hate to see my butt in those bad mirrors. So I shop on-line for almost everything. For the last few years people I did not even know very well have been contacting me to ask where to get things and whether or not they would have to pay retail.
When the mother of a former flame called me out of the blue a couple months ago to ask about couture handbags, I decided it was time to let the cat out the bag. I’ve got tons of secrets and I’m going to share them with anyone who wants to know.
And that’s how the savvy shopping blog came to be.
